Estes Park Environmetal Center was the proud  sponsor of the second annual statewide Student Art Celebration. Last year we honored the 100th Year Anniversary of Rocky Mountain National Park. This year we honored the 100th Year Anniversary of the National Park Service.

All Colorado school students K-12 were invited to submit artwork supporting the theme “This is my National Park for the next 100 years.” The event allowed Colorado students to participate in the anniversary, increase knowledge of the National Parks and appreciate the significance of the National Parks for life in Colorado.

Students competed in age groups K to 2nd, 3rd to 5th, 6th to 8th, and 9th to 12th in the categories of Visual Arts, Fiber Arts, Photography, Music, and Writing. There was an art show of the winning student artwork at the Fall River Visitor Center in Rocky Mountain National Park from May 22 through June 19, 2016. Winners, families and guests were honored at a Centennial ceremony at the Visitor Center on June 11, 2016. The students who place 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category and grade level received a one year pass to all of the National Parks. Students in grades 9 – 12, in addition to placing at the state level, had the opportunity to win a week in the Artist in Residence Program in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Thank You To All Of The Participants That Made This Event A Success
