NEW ROOTS FOR ECOLOGICAL INTENSIFICATION
The Land Institute

Over the course of the week, small group sessions were devoted to specific perennial grain breeding strategies of wheat, sorghum, kernza, rice and oil seed crops,as well as agroecological design and management of perennial polycultures. In other sessions, researchers from diverse backgrounds joined efforts to grappled with cross‐discipline research topics, such as intentional selection of below ground microbial communities in plant breeding, as well as discussions focused on opportunities and impediments in scaling up global research efforts in perennial grain polycultures .
